But not many worse songs that were done by a band that, in it previous incarnation, was legendary. No. . .Starship was pretty much a travesty imo.

Legendary? More like overrated. There's maybe two Airplane songs I halfassed enjoy. About the same as Starship, so I don't see a problem.

    Lol, oh nooooooooooooooooooo you didn't.
You may not like them, which I can understand. Their good looks and sense of fashion often got their true talent overlooked. Those guys defined a decade: at the forefront of New Wave, MTV when it was still the bomb, and pretty much most of the 80's. Everything they put out was instant gold. They even had a few in the 90's as well.
I hear sometimes how they were the pre-New Kids boy band. Big difference in that they played all their own instruments and wrote all their own songs and music.
I had a friend awhile back that used to say a bunch of crap about them until I dared him to go to the '05 Dallas show with me. He was utterly blown away by them.
Maybe someday I can take you to a show. Hell, I'd even be willing to see KISS in exchange. As long as they played Lick It Up.

You should check out As The Lights Go Down, their concert from '84 that was shown on Cinemax. Contrary to popular belief, at least nowadays, those guys could rock the house down, and all the panties contained therein.
I still love them for the fact that they never became just another 80's nostalgia band. They've always put out new music, not just tried to rely on their past to just go in and pantomime a performance and cash that paycheck. I can respect that.
Lol, love them to death. And they've gotten even better with age. Not many can boast the same credentials...

    Ha, says you.
Besides, Bobby is singing with the angels now.
That, or burning in Heck's eternal fiyahhhhhs of darnation, lol.
I liked Power Station, too. Almost as much as the other Duran spinoff, Arcadia.
Which song are you talking about?
I have one of Duran singing Bang a Gong, and Simon belted it out rather nicely...
Also, Power Station was the two Taylors' baby. Palmer was only supposed to be one of many revolving singers. Guess they dug him enough to keep him around. I can live with you liking PS better, but Duran overrated?
    Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

An "In the closet Duranie" in the making...
I will now apologize on giving you shit over Starship, and KISS.
That's cool you like them, I didn't mean to razz too hard over it. Not my cup of tea, to be honest, but still I'd not begrudge anyone their likes.
In the 80's I was never a heavy metal kinda guy, even the precursors like REO and Journey. There is, however, a memory assigned to any and all songs, even Starship, that will NEVER be unforgotten.
Not to sound gay, but I'm all about brotherly love.
Ok, that was extremely gay, I'll admit.
I just wanted you to know that I wasn't trying to be a dick over all this. Thank you for taking the high road, as you could've not. Sometimes I have opinions on things, hell they even change from time to time. I'm the kind of guy to be taken with a grain of salt. Peace out, amigo.
