I never said this thread was "post lyrics DoubiousComforts would think are good," only that most song lyrics do indeed suck because they are poorly written. What someone had mentioned was "hate" and "anger," I'm pointing out as ineptitude and stupidity. Many artists think they are being "edgy" or "cool" by writing dark stuff; in reality, it just comes off as silly and asinine. Who actually believes, for example, they are "hardcore" because they enjoy the retarded lyrics to Down with the Sickness? Song lyrics don't make you "hardcore." Surely Disturbed is not the only band so lame in their material that they have to inform the audience that they are "disturbed" ...not by a long shot. So if my low tolerance level for b.s. comes across as being negative... well, I'm just one person, and you'll certainly to get over it.
