Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Now that's more like it! None of this radioactive nonsense, just give us some good old fashioned headshots and a clean conscience.

Well I guess Elder Scrolls could be considered and FPS of sorts with the 's' standing for 'slasher'. Now imagine an Elder Scrolls-esque zombie FPS but set in a 'Land' type scenario. A whole world to roam and legions of zombies staggering around in it. Oh and some good old fashioned GAR stars to do the voice characterisation too man.

    A free-roaming FPS full-on proper zombie game? ... now that's just pornography!

I get all sorts of cool missions flashing through my head; rescue survivors of a downed helicopter in the city, go help the national guard stabilise the barricades, a rescue station is under attack - go help 'em out (with branching missions), retireve lost government orders here, pick up military weapons there... one can only dream.

If 'they' indeed do happen to make a STALKER zombie conversion, let's hope it doesn't take half a century to produce!

*runs around like crazy kid with no ritalin to hand*

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to get my mits on this bad boy, hopefully it's runs well, especially as it seems to be in the Half Life 2 area of technical jiggery pokery. I was reading someone commenting online worried about the smoothness of the engine and such, I have the same fears, after all this time they can't release a game that is potentially really good, but doesn't operate well. That'd just be a damp squib ... but after all this time, you would think it runs well, and the demos of people actually playing it at conventions (and those were old builds) it all seems nice and smooth...fingers cross this is actually the case.

Another video - this time some gameplay clips (filmed from a screen, probably at some kind of convention). Once again - I can't wait to get playing this game, the underground areas in the video look very atmospheric, those red warning lights circling around for instance ... spooky stuff.

I'm not sure whether I'm just making this up, or if I really read it somewhere, but I have this vague memory of someone stating that the vehicles in game only have limited (and varied) amounts of fuel. So you could very well hop in a jeep or a rusty old car and only get a couple of miles before it dries up ... maybe it's not true, maybe it is true, maybe it was true and they took it out ... I'm not sure, I just had this vague memory of that in me noggin' ...

Damnit, why can't it be an early February release?! It's not like they're still making the game anymore, lol! It'd also make a nice surprise (and kinda cool gimmick) to bring the release forward.

If this is how excited MZ gets about a videogame release, it leads one to wonder how he'd react to winning £1,000,000 on the national lottery.

I must say I'm still concerned at the big boot this game had last year to try and get it into shape:-
Gamesplay elements changed - I believe its far more scripted now.
AI reduced - It was just too complex.
Elements reduced - Again, too complex.

I just hope we don't end up with a "it'll do"...

Neil - indeed, hopefully it won't be a case of "that'll do, pig" ... they should have realised after all that work that it'd be daft to take too much out, i.e. more than was necessary. By the sounds of it the AI was a huge problem and there was some problem with the vehicles they had to fiddle around - surely they won't have taken out vehicles, you can't walk the entire 30sq km for cripes sake!

Capn - if I won a cool mil, I'd run around like a crazy lunatic mentalist, wide-eyed and drooling.

    Shedload of downloadable videos here...

Some of them you'll have seen elsewhere (e.g. the YouTube links I posted a while back), but now you can download and keep them, there's also some new ones in there by the looks of things, including purdy high-res vids.

Will the game have Co-Op multiplayer? if that case, I'm looking forward to stalking together with fellow Deadheads. Well, at least those from Britland. Otherwise the lag would reach epic proportions...
