Regardless of the historic significance of the noose, in this situation it was specifically meant to target black students. Some idiot UCSD student admitted to doing this in the racially-charged atmosphere following a drunken frat-boy party which mocked Black History Month. To be honest, I would have heard no other mention of Black History Month this year except for all the bellyaching coming from uptight whites. Good job on raising awareness, crackers. The thing that sticks out in that story to me and that i have found through my own life experiences is that for all the crying about racism, blacks are the most overtly so. I was unaware that this had become a contest to point out the most racist group of people, which really has no bearing on what some racist brat shouted out in Wal-Mart. But since you've mentioned it, it's been my experience that Latinos (some, not all) are the most racist in the way they use language as a means to exclude people that don't speak Spanish. At least black people speak English so that you know where you stand.
