Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. It had the right idea but it was let down by CG animation.

Hmmm ... I found the 2nd Purge movie much better than the 1st, albeit still with some inherent plot holes and logic gaps a mile wide. In the first movie some of the characters made some of the dumbest frickin' decisions possible (like the son, and the father being incredibly lax with protecting the security of his system from his wishy washy son).

Yeh, I thought so. I've no doubt that none of the characters are represented correctly, or as they are/were in real life, but as a film, it's strangely gripping. Doubly so for the fact that I despise Facebook and its (largely) vacuous nature (although I don't hate it as much a twatter). It's never boring, despite what should be a rather uninteresting story. Even Justin Bieberlake is good in it. Though, to be honest, he's not been bad in anything I've seen him in. Very watchable in 'Alpha Dog' too.

    Insidious chapters 1 & 2

I generally dislike modern horror films, but these two haunted house films from the creators of the first Saw film were actually quite enjoyable. Of course there are quite a few jump scares, which are normally a pet peeve of mine when overused like so many films do these days, but they seem to be decently spread out amongst a more lingering sense of fear. It's been a long time since a ghost film has scared me and this and Babadook have both done so within the last week or so. I'm shocked honestly...

    'Back In Time'

This new documentary on the Back to the Future franchise is a must-see for any fan. It covers the making of the first fuilm from concept to release, but is mostly about the legacy of the series and it's dedicated fan base.

As I said, a must-see for all BTTF fans. 9/10

I saw someone drive down my street in a "Back to the Future" Delorian, complete with the engines on the back.

I think Marty and Doc were lost.

    Anyway...

    [REC] - 5.5/10

    [REC2] - 6.5/10

Last Night - 9/10: One of those films that is so much more than its parts

Only Lovers Left Alive - 8/10: Beatiful film that seems to lose its way in the last 10 mins IMHO.

Kick Ass 2 - 8/10: Enjoyable, but not as slick as the first.
