I totally agree, I know the movie gets destroyed by critics but I thought it was good for the time it came out and it capitalized on the fear in the country at the height of the cold war. Some of the images like the Russian tank in front of McDonalds, very powerful. To have the "red army" in front of something so Iconic and American was moving. Also the loss and sacrifice in the film felt very real, and of course who does not like cheering for the underdog? Even more so when the underdog is your age and taking on your countries worst enemy. The bit at the end with the plaque in the mountains. Brilliant. WOLVERINES!!!!!
