Goodbye Roy (Scheider) - Many MANY thanks!

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7238211.stm

I'm really quite saddened by this news!! I only bought 'Blue Thunder' on DVD a week or so ago!

My favourite films of his I think were Jaws (no suprise there), Blue Thunder and 2010!

    Thanks Roy!

I think he died from basically cancer caused by his tanning adiction? Not sure about this

It will be odd to see 'Iron Cross' which is in post production - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1039614/ - I hope it's a befitting final performance for him!

Anyway... I think I'll sit down and watch 'Blue Thunder' again tonight... I need to see 'Sorcerer' as well (never seen it)!

Where are you going to be and what are you going to do when the inevitable Zombie Apocalypse comes to be?

Chief Brody is one of the best characters EVER in film history.

    Damn mortality.

    Sad news indeed.

Poor ol' Roy, he was the best of the two Heywood Floyd's. R.I.P.

I think it's worth mentioning that the first film he ever appeared in was called 'Curse of the Living Corpse' from 1964. Might have to track that one down.

The three of them made that film!:-
    Roy Scheider
    Robert Shaw
    Richard Dreyfuss

I MUST try and get a copy of Sorcerer (1977)! It's suppose to be excellent (even got a Tangerine Dream soundtrack ), but the DVD version of it is suppose to be appalling. There was talk of a 30th edition version so I might wait...
