Some good factoids in there. I was most suprised by the percentage of female gamers. As per my experience on live i almost never run into women. Perhaps those are the ones who don't use their mikes in order to avoid obnoxious men on there? If that's it then i don't blame them. Also, this coming on the heels of the recent wii thread says that althought the wii is smashing it's competitors in terms of sales it's definitely a regional thing. I know this for a fact, because when I was beta testing Home females were harrassed to the point where some made male charaters to avoid jerks. Most will probably remember when Sony took the mic option off of Home during the beta. This was one of the reasons why.

And truthfully, virtually every female gamer i know who takes it seriously is really good. It's a shame that sexism pervades even this arena.

yeah, i've came across a few females while playing on xboxlive. and though me and my pals are usually polite, there's always some clown who's trying to talk dirty to her or drop lewd comments throughout the entire match. some people are just that pathetic...i once got in a game of gta4 where a chick was playing and this dumb fuck spent the entire match asking her about her sex life and telling her he'd do things to her she'd only dreamed of...needless to say, she was pretty offended, called him some pretty funny things, and left. we all filed complaints on the douche and submitted bad feedback for him.

And truthfully, virtually every female gamer i know who takes it seriously is really good. It's a shame that sexism pervades even this arena. My daughter has been kicking butt since she was 11 online. Her name is kinda misleading, and people freak out when they realise they just got beat by a preteen girl. She's nearly 14 and pretty respected now. Chip off the old block, new millenium style. I'm warming up to the XBOX, but there are still too many damn buttons for me to figure out.
