    "I just want to tell a good story"

    I'm so fed up with directors/actors these days that make movies about politically heated subjects, but then state in interviews that they're not trying to convey a message.

    That's just BULL****. If you don't want a message put across, then don't make a film about the Iraqi war Paul Greengrass (or whoever else is out there), because there's no way you're going to touch that subject and expect people to just sit back and expect an action thriller. If so, you're a dumbass.

    i agree with you totally, dude.

    there are some films that have treated controversial subject matter in a way that let's the audience provide the "meaning" to the story but they are few and far between. boogie nights would be one, juno & thank you for smoking are a couple of others that jump right to mind.
