    LRO images apollo landing sites....

the lunar recon orbiter has imaged the landing sites of the apollo missions, including apollo 11. the pictures were taken at about 4 feet per pixel of resolution and in some them it is even possible to see the shadows being cast by the equipment left behind. in one you can clearly see the trail left by the astronauts between the lander and the place where they put the scientific instruments.

Yeah but what if the Lunar Recon Orbiter's footage was shot in a warehouse in the desert outside of palm springs? Just kidding, just kidding!

    Cool photos! Thanks Mike!

Q: Why are there no pictures of the Earth from the Moon?
A: Because you can't take a picture of Earth when you're in a warehouse on Earth.

    That picture is obviously photoshopped.

Too bad NASA didn't bother saving more images/footage as they were not smart enough to save the majority of the tapes which they reused/erased.

After all it was only one of the most important events in human history.
