    Yup. Tis badass, isn't it?

Will anything come of it, though? And will they still be shamblers by the time follywood gets done with it all?

These have been around for quite some time. Shortly after Quantum of Solace was released, I believe.

Well, simply put, if they do an analysis on which "breed" makes more money at the box office they are going to go with the one that will give them the most revenue.

You can bet your balls on that one .

Really? First time I've come across them TBH.

Looks really good always enjoyed the Battle of Yonkers in the book.

Fingers crossed it gets made this movie.

Yup, mine are crossed right along with ya. And I also agree that the Battle of Yonkers was a great part of the book.

Last I heard, y'all gonna be holding your breath a while longer. Straczynski's script is out. Marc Forster is out as director. Back to square one. From Wikipedia:

In July 2009, Brooks revealed to Fangoria that the script is currently being re-written by Matthew Michael Carnahan. Brooks believes this "shows [the producer's] confidence in this project" because of the amount of money that was being invested in it. Paramount Pictures also announced at Comic-Con that they are looking for a new director to replace Forster.
The current writers previous scripts consist of:
    The Kingdom
    Lions for Lambs
    State of Play

That's a fucking bummer to me, man! Although Quantum of Solace wasn't too great, I still think Forsters earlier work is FANTASTIC. Stay is one of my favorite films of the past decade.

Damn shame. Oh well....hopefully they'll get someone else with talent...

If "WWZ" is destroyed by having sprinting zombies, zombies that can walk on ceilings, super-human strength, or any of this silly stuff in it, you can bet that I won't be seeing it. There's a time and place for seeing superhuman sprinters v. shamblers (I think the sprinting ghouls worked well in Dawn '04, as a re-imagining for it just because it was a fresher idea, a la "28 Days Later" which wasn't really a zombie movie anyway), but WWZ is about traditional ghouls. I'm getting really sick of super-human sprinting zombies. It's also the best zombie novel I've ever read, if they ruin this I'm going to really be ticked.

Rotting people shouldn't be able to sprint -- they're decomposing and have rigamortis. You try running on a leg that has fallen asleep and see how well that works for you. Nuckin' futs man, just enough with silly superhuman sprinting dead people...

i highly doubt that mr. brooks would stand for letting sprinters get thrown into this film.

when it does get made, hopefully it'll be done well enough to show the world that shambling, moaning, and creeping ghouls can be much more terrifying than the running, sprinting, screaming, wall-crawling, kung-fu zombies that have polluted the genre over the last decade.

it's just that almost 90% of the "zombie" films lately have been filled with track-star zombies, and of the few entries that haven't, most have been pretty lame films *cough*like romero's last couple entries*cough*

    Hate to say it...

Hate to say it...but this seems like one of those movies destined to be stuck in development hell. It would require such a large budget to make it turn out well, and I don't think studies want to gamble that much on a zombie movie. Safer to just go with a new Adam Sandler movie or a popcorn PG-13 "horror" film.
