Denver's KUSA, citing two sources close to the investigation, said that hair and saliva taken from Karr in Boulder after his arrival last week were tested over the weekend at the Denver police crime lab and that he was ruled out as the source of the DNA taken from the crime scene. Boulder County District Attorney Mary Lacy's office did not immediately return repeated calls from The Associated Press. The Denver police declined comment. Karr's attorneys were with him in jail and were not immediately available for comment. Karr was scheduled to make his first Colorado court appearance late Monday afternoon.

He got a free trip back to the US to keep from going to a Bankok prison - Just as most of the country suspected! So, the US Justice Department paid (or used monies available) to set a pedophile free. I think something should happen to this guy on principle. Assuming the parents really are innocent(not sure cause this case has been a mess for 10 years and always will be), I'm sure the father must be extremely pissed for the ride this guy took everybody on.

From the NY Times: What is next for Mr. Karr is uncertain. He still faces five misdemeanor counts in California of possessing child pornography on his computer. In 2001, he was held in the Sonoma County Jail for six months and then released, with bail waived. When he failed to appear at a court date, the judge issued a warrant for his arrest. The district attorney in Sonoma, Stephan R. Passalacqua, said in a written statement that Mr. Karr would be extradited back to face those charges.
