ITV Studios America and HDFilms have teamed to develop Space: 2099, a reimagining of the 1970s British sci-fi series Space: 1999 created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson. HDFilms’ Jace Hall, who recently executive produced ABC’s reboot of another sci-fi franchise, the 1980s mini-series V, is executive producing the new project.

The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. i was a fan of the original and then i re-watched them as an adult. haven't aged well and if the show sucked back then, i see no reason why anything would be different now.

true on that. one of the best ship designs out there. too bad the show didn't live up. when your ship is the coolest thing in a show/movie, you might have some problems. wait a minute...lucas made a fortune off of movies where the ships were the best actors....hmmm
