Update on Frank

First I want to say that Frank was truly thankful and touched for all the
good wishes from all of you.

Brief recap : Frank is the father of the girl who had the allergic reaction
to a bite of cake and lapsed into a brain dead coma.

well, after many tests, it was determined she was lost. So the plan was
to take her children 2 girls age 7 and 9 to see her on mothers day
and tell them that mommy wasnt coming home, and this was
the last time they would see her.
after that they planned on pulling the plug and letting her go.

problem.

she is an organ donor.
before they can pull the plug on her they had to harvest her.
1700 people die each day waiting for an organ.
there are over 120 items they can pull from your body if you are a donor.

so on monday Frank got the added treat of being present as they took
his daughter apart like a spare car. as they yanked organs and other parts
out they added more machines to keep the process going.
when they pulled out something, there was a person there
waiting with an ice box, ready to take that organ to a specific location.
it was very organised, very planned an very horrific.

to top it off Franks wife ended up in the hospital herself.

So now she has been shucked like a clam, the kids had a great mothers day
Eleanor has lost all her children, the mass has been held, and it is over.

I tell you this for the simple reason:
your life can change in a second and you will never know when its coming.

I am fatalistic so i have accepted this.

All of you, please dont waste your time on silly sh*t, I dont wish
this kind of thing on any of you. Put down your video games,
turn your dvds off and spend time with the people in your life
that matter. They will be taken from you eventually, and you from
them. Dont completely waste the good times you may have.

damn paul. sounds like frank has had a hard, hard road to walk on.

i second your sentiments about spending time with the folks that matter to you and telling them how you feel about them in the here and now. you never know what this crazy, beautiful, and terrible life might have in store for you and yours.

i recently lost someone really close to me. in my case, i had the time to tell her everything that i needed to say before the end. you can't always count on that though. do it today. you might not get the chance i did to lay it all out.
