    Looking to submit

I'm almost done with the first draft of an LD novel and while I still have a way to go before it is ready to be published, I am looking for publishers. Does anyone have a site or group they'd recommend?

Well, now you're getting into a whole new world. Having written something is the easy part. Getting it published is completely different. The web site Hellsing put up looks pretty good. Just be careful, there are a lot of rip-offs out there. You shouldn't have to pay to have your work published.

Before you send your stuff ANYWHERE (or even talk about your ideas), get your work copywrited. It's fairly cheap. For 20 bucks you can register your work with the writers guild of america http://www.wgawregistry.org/webrss/ For 45 bucks you can register with the library of congress http://www.copyright.gov/register/literary.html You should consider doing both.

You might want to check out the Writers Market. http://www.amazon.com/Writers-Market...e=UTF8&s=books
This book will have just about every publisher and literary agent there is. If money is tight, used copies of the 2006 guide is going for about 11 bucks and not much will really change in a year.

I put my work up on American Zoetrope for peer review and such. People do sell their work and get agents from this site but it is mostly geared towards the film industry. http://www.zoetrope.com/ It does have a section for those who write novels. What the hell....It's free.

There is a forum I have found called Absolute Write http://absolutewrite.com/ that covers anything concerning writing. It seems mostly geared towards novels, so that may be a better place to get you headed in the right direction.

Anyway, I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck.
