New Tool album.

I just got it...well...someone just gave it to me for free...I am not even sure if it is out yet...but let me tell you...its pretty damn good. Its definately has its Tool flair, but they go in different routes with their songs...it is a lot more diverse an album than previous Tool albums...from the harmonics to the instruments they use.

You can also hear hints and whispers of beats or riffs from previous albums if you listen carefully. I am positive this was intentional, and in my opinion makes the album even better in some nostalgic sense...I do not think they are running out of ideas...I think it is completely the opposite...they are doing something I dont think I have heard in any other album...and I think only more solid fans of Tool will pick this up...

After looking at Amazon, the CD doesnt come out till May 2...but when it does, I highly recommend 10,000 Days...truly a great Tool album.

I've been a TOOL (and Maynard) fan for years and have been patiently waiting for this new project!!! Good to know they've "still got it".
All I've heard is "Vicarious" - I like it!!!

I never really got into TOOL. A few of my old friends were heavily into them. I really enjoy their music videos, though.

Saw them live once in '97, I believe. I guess that was a pretty cool experience. Maynard had tits.

Yeah, Tool always seemed like a neo-glam band to me, relying more on image and theatrics than the music itself.

And as for being intricate and deeply talented, I don't think so. They're four chord rockers. All their stuff is dropped D Tuned and sound the same. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with four chord rockers, like Buddy Holly and the Stones for example, but Tool isn't anything to write home about. Just my opinion though. You're welcome to yours too.

actually, i infrequently talk about guns, here becauuse of the variety of firearm related skillsets this place draws. Back in the day before you crawled our of your mothers fetted asswomb, we had a number of people that were professionals within various postions requiring them to "carry". hence at times there were numerous posts releating to guns and their varried uses, skill, and techniquies.

if anything i simply try and continue that trend.
