what is a "Yahoo! Slurp Spider"?

What are the Yahoo! Slurp Spider and MSNBot Spider that I keep seeing lurking around the "Who's Online" page?? They always seem to be viewing user profiles??

A spider is a "bot" from a search engine, its basically a program that trawls the internet and searches for key words and links from sites to add to its database. we're getting alot visiting us at the moment becuase we have alot of sites linking to us, this is a good thing becuase it'll help us get a higher ranking on search engines. thats basically it. there's more info on the yahoo one here.
