    Team Fortress 2

So after all the early spiel about the project MANY MANY years ago being WW2 based etc, it now appears TF2 will simply be much like the current version.

I imagine they've gone for the pixar'esque graphics to make it look VERY different to other games and to try and hide the fact it's basically TF1 with a make-over?

The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I never played the first one, but I really like the art style of TF2. There is a video of it thats supposed to be released this week, so hopefully we can get a better look at it and it turns out well.
Edit: Heres the video. Its on youtube so the resoultion isn't that great, but it looks really impressive regardless. The animation is some of the best I've ever seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhJN_Xl6Pkw

Team Fortress Classic is the ONLY online game (shooter) I think is any good...

Many others just seem to flat and arcade like. TFC offers enough different tactical levels and diversity that I'm still playing it 5yrs on...

I only played TF once quite a long time ago, while I never went back to it (back then I was all about CS ... despite being terrible at it), I did really like the different classes of character. Each one has their strength and weakness, it opens up the field a bit and levels the playing field if you will.

Tried out the Battlefield games? They have different classes, you should give them a whirl if you haven't already.
