    Face palm!

So at work I was walking through reception and over heard the receptionist talking to a colleague...

So if dinosaurs were really big back then... Maybe people were much bigger too?

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Oh dear...

Reminds me of a video where a bunch of know-nothing 'virtue signalling' yoofs fall all over each other to condemn the picture of Steven Spielberg proudly sitting beside an animal he "killed" ... except that "animal" was actually an animatronic movie prop ... on the set of Jurassic Park ... ... it was the sick (but still "alive") Triceratops.

Sometimes all you can do is fall to your knees and despair for humanity's future ... Idiocracy seems more likely every time you see just how many blithering idiots crawl out of the woodwork at the drop of a hat.
