Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer - Do I watch it?

I thought the first one was just about OK...

    Do I watch the second?
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I found the first to be kind of a guilty pleasure but I haven't seen the sequel. I wouldn't pay to see it, either....

Ug, don't ditch cash on the sequel, it's shiite. I saw the original in the cinema, and was a total bloke about it (along with my mates) and just kept staring at Jessica Alba.

But at least the first was remotely interesting, despite being rather pish next to all the other superhero movies, but the sequel is tosh, it's just stuff happening, completely forgettable, not to mention the whole bit about the wedding being so important even though a bunch of shiite is currently going down, oh come on...a superhero should know better, this isn't My Super Sweet Superhero Wedding or something!

Perhaps watch out of interest, but if you pay for it you're a fool, it's tosh...and pish...a bunch of pish-tosh is what I'm generally trying to say...yarrrr...

I'm not a fan of the comics/cartoons....what was he originally?

And what's this "pish" and "tosh" stuff? British slang for crap and sh*t or something?

I only saw this because my kids wanted to go. I was mediocre at best.
If a movie with Jessica Alba can't keep my interest, it must not be that good.

What's up with Alba in the sequel? In the original she looks fantastic, but what's up with her hair and eyes in "Silver Surfer"? Not exactly attractive to me....

    hellsing is right

they turned galactus into a storm or something , like a bad weather
    condition

they took one of the all time greatest ff strylines and ruined it

btw the silver surfer wasnt the original charecter in the ff 48-51 stories
it was a charecter called galactus who was a god like being who
existed by draining all the life energy out of living planets
and leaving what was once a living world nothing ut a dead rock in space
then he moved on to find another planet to feed his never ending hunger

the silver surfer was his herald
he found planets for galactus to consume and told the
population of the planet that galactus was coming and
thier time as a species has ceased to exist, and as upsetting
as they may see it, it was part of the greater cosmic good
as galactus was beyond such concepts as good and evil he merely
did as was his existence dictated

galactus arrived ad set up his equipment to destroy the earth
he had the surfer battle the ff to stop them from annoying him
he had god like powers so the ff had no way to stop him, he just was not in the mood to be bothered
the surfer was injured in a battle with the ff
the surfer fell into the apt of alicia masters, the things blind girlfriend
she showed pity on the surfer and he realised that galactus destroying the earth was wrong, so he turned against him.
meanwhile, a charecter named the watcher interfered by giving the ff a
weopon called the ultimate nullifier, one of the only things that could destroy galactus, as the watcher knew that earth had a part to play in
the cosmic scheme ahead, and galactus was making a mistake in doing what he was.
when reed richards showed galactus he had the nullifier, galactus
made a vow never to harm the earth in exchange for the return of the nullifier
reed agreed and galactus left. but he punished the surfer by banishing him to earth, never to roam the stars again. then galactus left.

in the movie there is no galactus
and the reason or the surfer showing up is lame
and the threat posed by his coming makes no sense

they ruined one of the all time stan lee/ jack kirby
    storylines of all

for that i cant tell anyone to see it
cuz you would not know who the surfer even is

i saw the first one, it was okay for a bored afternoon viewing.

i saw the trailer for the second one and thougt it looked great. but then a close buddy of mine said that the trailer showed all the good parts, and it wasn't that good...so i've not seen the second one.

i didn't vote, because i don't think i should vote without seeing it first...but i just don't care enough to see it.

Surely the second FF movie can't be worst than the first?

Then again, it did look like they were making Jessica Alba a little less attractive by trying to shoehorn her into appearing more like the classic Sue Richards.

Yeah, Alba isn't as sexy in this film as she was in the first...she also seemed to have enough make-up on to reflect the sun.

And Bassman - "pish" is the Scottish version of "piss", and "tosh" is basically "rubbish/crap/sh*t" and so on...they're my latest 'buzz-swears' at the moments, haha.

Maybe they thought a purple and blue spandex clad behemoth couldn't cut it as a the Eater of Worlds in a live-action sense and went bare-bones , as opposed to 're-envisioning' Galactus into something equally anthropomorphic, but more heretical from the perspective of cannon.

    Yup, that's probably it

Galactus will appear in his human form in the Silver Surfer spin off. Besides he only appears as a giant purple man to humans, for other humanoid aliens he appears in their image.
