    Where are you from?

    As for me...

The extremely beautiful Marble City (Knoxville), Tennessee. Truly nestled in the "valley" here in Knox Co. in the metro area only 30 miles from the Great Smoky Mountains. I'm from Knoxville but not a Knoxvillian as I live in the county (we have a city government and a county government -- two mayors, two councils, it's entertaining). She's a truly beautiful city and I can honestly say I don't really have any interest in living anywhere else as this is truly home. Home is home, no matter where you go or how long you live somewhere else. The Knox metro is about 600,000 people and there's always something to do around here.

I lived in Duluth (Gwinnett Co.), Georgia which was part of the metro-Atlanta (go from downtown Atlanta and head north up I-85 for 30 miles) for a little over a year from around April 2007 - June 2008. Georgia is a great place and so is Tennessee -- but Atlanta is its own little world. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I had a great opportunity to experience tons of people from very unique cultures and perspectives which was really rewarding. The whole time I was gone though I really missed my home and when I was given an opportunity to come back to Knoxville for a new career opportunity I jumped at it.

You know, anymore I don't even really care for traveling anymore. Some people prefer to go to far away lands and experience all the world "out there". I just don't have any interest really. Everything I really need is here at home for me. The three places I really travel to are work, home, and my little honkytonk bar that I love. A vacation for me is instead of going to work I can hang out at my bar for the day instead. And there's always unique people that come in from all over the world I can meet there. My home is where my heart lies though -- I'm a Tennessean through-and-through and it's good enough for a simple person like me.

    i came from a stork.

the stork dropped me off in a small town on the illinois/indiana border in southern illinois. not a lot going on there. lots of farms and fields, a few large oil reserves that provide plenty of jobs for laborers. got in a bunch of trouble there, wised up and joined the service. did some time in the Marines, was in cali for about 1/2 a year (didn't get much liberty or chance to explore) and then lived in north carolina on the atlantic ocean for about 3 years. traveled far away to iraq for 7 months, moved back to southern illinois when i left the military.

currently residing on the other side of the state, in south western illinois, about 20 minutes from stl. 1/2 a semester away from getting my 4-year degree. that's me and where i'm from in a nutshell.
