    Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (film)

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. It'll probably be better than that Jonah Hex abomination I had on the tv while I was multitasking Saturday afternoon.

ha! half the reason i love the syfy channel so much is that on sat or sun afternoons you can be sitting there reading then next thing you know, you are wondering if that really was a flying crocodile you saw go zooming out of the corner of your eye. usually it is, with extremely poor actors attempting to flee, scream, cry, or simply get eaten properly to boot.

not to jump topics but there should really be a thread dedicated to "bunnyman."

Could be a future guilty pleasure, but in all honesty, I'm growing increasingly tired of all these slow motion, bullet time, videogame actionfests with screaming banshee - fu monsters.

I hope the script can match the visual prowess ... kinda interested in this one, not massively, but not disinterested either ... a big plus for me though is Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the cast.

I'm guessing the book is good because I told a friend about seeing the trailer and he was practically crapping his pants over the news.
When I clicked on the trailer, I expected low budget crap. Instead it looks pretty dang sweeet, in 3D no less...

I know next to nothing about the source material, but I would think a trailer with the subtitle "Vampire Hunter" would feature some vampires?

Nope, doesn't do it for me. I like the silly premise, but the film itself looks to take itself way to seriously. Also, there doesn't seem to be anything new here at all. Reminds me of Van Helsing more than anything else, and that was a shitty film.

Oh well, here we go... typical Hollywood trampling over historical fact in the name of entertainment. As a Brit even I know that Abraham Lincoln couldn't have possibly been a vampire slayer, he just wouldn't have had time - everybody knows he was far too busy doing a school report for Bill and Ted...
