    The streets aren't safe anymore...

So, I was mugged on my way home on Monday and now, I'm so scared to step outside the front door. If it opens, I freeze up and start panicking. I go completely numb and just can't go out. They took nearly everything. My mobile was at home, so they didn't take that, but they took all of my money, my MP3 player and watch. All i remember is walking along Wallsend Road, then feeling a hard punch on my head. I woke up and found that they took everything and that I was bleeding.

I'm fine now, but some plans I had made for tonight are ruined.

I'm sick and ****ing tired of these little bastards, roaming the streets and just attacking people at random. I could have fought off one or maybe two of them, but four???

Similar thing happened to a guy I worked with... This is many years ago though...

A pair of guys would regularly mug people and one day he was the victim. Basically they repeatedly clubbed him over the head until he was unconscious and bleeding...

Luckily in the end the guys were done...

Of course we're in the rediculous situation now where the government are trying to get the judges to not send people to prison, due to them not getting their act togethor and building more prisons... So basically guilty people are being not sent to prison, or let out early!
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. British convicts could be sent to Australia again
    Friday Feb 2 04:00 AEDT

More than 200 years since the first boatload of English convicts reached our shores, overcrowded British jails are once again considering sending their prisoners Down Under.

In a desperate move to combat what has become a national crisis, Prime Minister Tony Blair announced he will do anything possible — including sending convicts overseas — to relieve pressure on the country's "full to bursting" prison system.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Australia's High Commissioner to the UK Richard Alston acknowledged the prospect of accepting UK prisoners at a recent function.

Britain's chief prisons inspector Anne Owers blames the crisis on a law change which allows judges to give indefinite sentences.

"We have a serious crisis and one that is impacting on the ability to do rehabilitation work," she said in a damning report. "It is normally considered good practice to build an ark before the flood."

The situation is so dire that the UK's Home Secretary John Reid has written a letter to judges demanding that only the most violent and dangerous criminals be locked up.

Reid has been forced to think up radical options to free up prison cells, such as releasing prisoners early; sending the 11,000 foreign nationals currently locked up back to their home country; creating a waiting list for jail spaces; and even using ships to house prisoners offshore.

The maximum capacity for British jails is 80,716. In November last year, the number of inmates topped 80,000 for the first time.
"Naturally, the common people don't want war, but they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
Tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and endangering the country.
it works the same in every country."

-Herman Goering, Hitler's Reichsmarschall, at the Nuremberg trials.

Why dont they just build more jails over here?its beyond me why they find it so damn difficult!they find millions of pounds of taxpayers money to furnish offices in whitehall & to teach civil servants about feng shui,so why cant they spend some money on building new jails?they dont have to be plush 5* accomadations, they are to house the scum of society after all!(apart from the pensioners who are jailed because they cant afford to pay massive council tax rises of course)
Why should australia take all our scum anyway?they are their own nation now & if i was them i'd say no!

I am really sorry about what happened to you and it really sucks but I am glad you are ok......or ok physically.

I have a question...if you only remember a punch in the head then how do you know there were four of them?

I know about agoraphobia...when I first got really sick I would not leave my house for abour 3 months with fear that I would be sick while I was out.

Listen Cyko, life can seem a bit strange after a traumatic event but don't let these little turds keep you down. They punched you from behind 'cos they couldn't match you full on. They are pussies and believe in that. Use the negative and turn it into a positive. Don't lock yourself away and be afraid of a bunch of little c**ts who couldn't fight you face to face. Work out, get tougher and don't be afraid to show it off. Believe me, no one will mess around again.

Sorry to hear about the Cyk, but like the others are saying, don't be afraid to step outside again.

Tricky - damn straight, they can find money to splash out on f*ckin' Casinos, but they can't find the cash to build a friggin' prison or two, sickening.

If Australia was willing to put up a big old prison in the middle of ass-f*ck nowhere then I'd be very appreciative.

It doesn't even have to be a case of building flat out new prisons, just converting abandoned military bases and other such areas. It's unbelievable how anyone (glaring at Reid) can consider a f*cking waiting line and letting kiddy fiddlers go free a good idea.

Just another f*ck up to throw on the bonfire that is Britain, and hopefully another dent to British confidence that'll inspire people not to vote for the scumbags in power.

Darn straight MZ!and as well as all the abandoned military bases, how about all the huge underground cold war bunkers that each city has, that were designed for hundreds of people!im sure they could turn those to prisons as well without too much effort!

And cyk, listen to what the capn says, buy a set of weights and get beefed up a bit,it will boost your confidence, pull the chicks & make scrotes think twice before starting trouble with you.
Im not a fighting man & im not hard, but i generally dont get any trouble cos im quite beefed up & tatoo'd,it works

my grandad regularly states "why not just send em to antartica or something?" and in retrospect, that aint a bad idea with asseholes like this.

Hell yeah Cyk, get the upper body workin' for ya ... obviously I don't know what your physical presence is in real life, but regardless - get the weightlifting going to expand your chest, shoulders and arms and you'll be more imposing as a result, and hopefully people would think twice about approaching you - and if they did, you'd stand a good chance of fighting back.

Tricky - good idea - underground prisons, me likey-likey. The structure exists, all you need to do is decorate it out a bit, whack up the standard prison security and throw in some basic living things (beds, bogs) and you've got some room.

I see that some "high risk" sex offender is on the loose in Oxfordshire - so if there's any gals from Oxford here (or anyone here is in Oxford and doesn't know about the pervert), then keep an eye out.

It's true that a good build means no one will mess with you, but you were hit from behind so the cowards could pick at you like the ****ing hyenas they are.

Don't be scared Cykotic, be ****ing angry!! Learn from this, go out and find them and set about them with a baseball bat, then take their ****ing stuff!

i Have been mugged and beaten
more times than i can count

the last one was about 3 month ago when 3 guys jumped me

i got beat but i managed to cause some harm to them
they wee just surprised that i didnt run

    you get sick of it
    and your whole attitude changes
instead of being araid when this happens
    you get pissed

i got whacked around good but i didnt feel a thing
    cuz i was so pissed

i like to hang in bad parts of town
its more of my element so i invite more

dont let it get to you

    its like a car crash
you wouldnt never drive again if you were in a
crash that you got hurt in (i dont mean paralized)
you would just be more aware

if you lived in america id tell you to get a gun
    and blow the scum away
the only reason i dont have a gun is because
it would never get a chance to get dusty

so dont let a mugging hold you back
there isnt any reason to withdraw completely

then they will have stolen more from you than your belongings if you
let them influence your going out
    dont give them that victory

Unfortunately you'd have to drastically change your body for it to really notice through clothing... And seems a very extreme thing to do...

I've spent a lot of time in the gym + done some martial arts etc and I have what I would describe as a reasonably stocky build, but I wouldn't say I look "big" as such... My build - in clothing - certainly wouldn't change any ones opinion on whether to attack me or not...

I suspect you'd have more luck changing the clothes you wear Now a nice HPotD thong I suspect would make most people keep a safe distance from you
