Next big zombie story idea

I have an beginning idea for a zombie book series. It consists of a short story from every state in the United States writing them in sequence and mapping out the character route on a real map using real locations giving the reader the experience of a zombie movie without the movie. And I will take one or two characters from each short story and put them into the final conclusion story. That is all I have at this time I'm really interested in any and all constructive criticism and input. Is it possible is it worth putting I'm the time?

Everything is worth the effort if you really want to make the story. But I would need to know more than just survival road trips based on actual locations to effectively judge the quality of the stories. I would tell you to go for it. Just make sure the characters are relevant to their locations and situations, (example- a rural farmer in Montana is likely to have more survival skills and weapons than say a stock broker from Boston.
