anyone read gamespot, only about 100 people turned up for the launch ,as apposed to the 3000 for the wii, so sony gave them all free hdtv's! , now thats desperate in my opinion.
i saw the one in gamestation and holy crap thats one chunky mother****er!, its bigger and heavier than an xbox 360, hell my pc towers around the same weight.
anyway, heres what the post is for....
so yesterday i have a big 3 hour break between lessons at college, so i aste em walking around the town centre the college is in, y'know going in hmv, gamestation and whathave you a couple of times each cus i have 3 hours to waste, and the first time i go in i notice the ps3 is out and theres a group of guys who, i swear to god all had crew cuts, shirts with no tie and glasses leering in a crowd.
i asked if i could get passed and they leered and accused me of of trying to "beat them to it", to which i just said "dude i dont care im trying to get to the ps2 games over there, can i just get passed" so grudginly, for some reason, they did.
now these were the typical cliche nerd, which was surprising ,i firgured the ps3 clientel would be chavs not nerds, i figure that would be the wii *shrugs*, wierrd huh?
anyway im looking through the games and the ps3 is down the same aisle on the other side and i notice they disprse, alll except the one who accused me of "trying to beat me to it". he was standing, staring at it like he was in a trance, and all the screen was playing was an fmv for virtua fighter that lasted 20 seconds on a loop, but think thats wierd, he got worse.
some little kid goes up and stands looking at it, this guy obnoxiosly side steps the little kid and places himself between the console stand and the kid so the kid cant see and continues starring, the kid is trying to circle him but this guy is obviously, and for some unkown reason trying to stop the kid even seeing it.
i move on out the store, but i go in 3 more times during the 3 horus, since theres only so many places to go that i like and each time this guy is there starring at the screen and when people say something like "hey that resistance looks cool" he would whip round and go "cool!?!, just cool?!?, its the pinnacle of fps gameing in the latest technology, screw halo this is gonna be the revolutionizer"....to which the other guys just go "...k", and distincly whisper "wanker" under there breath as they go.
so the 3 hours end and i go to my lesson, when i get out ive got an hour till my ride gets here and as i pass gamestation sure enough he was still there (the whole front wall is open to see since its in a mall) but theres a crowd of store clerks walking over to him looking worried, i head in and pretend im looking at xbox games just to see what hes done now, apparently they were asking him to leave since A: he was scaring the kids, B: had been there for 6HOURS!!!! and C: the store wasnt doign a midnight launch and was closing till tomorrow.
he got all jittery ,and i swear to god, yelled at them outside the sotre for 15 minutes calling them "360 geeks on gates pay roll" and "go home to play your wiis with other 6 year olds!".
dunno what happened next but as i left i saw him standing out side the store looking in the doors.
so in sumation, guess you really have to be crazy to buy a ps3
