2040 - your predictions

Technology wise, everything will be even bloody smaller, lighter, seriously fast - we'll most definately be as technologically-bound in the Western world as those guys over in Japan are (all that buying sodas with your mobile, watching TV on your mobile, smart toilets etc). Society won't be intensely different, there won't be flying cars and suchlike, but hmmm...the internet will be insanely fast, we'll be watching TV and movies via our computers on wafer-thin monitors which can be rolled out of a thin box (saw it on a gadget show, its in the testing stages). Population wise? Unless we have an epidemic before then, there'll still be too many of us, there will definately have been another war - perhaps a 'big' one (WW2 size...not length). I'll be 56 ... *ponders* ... damn...that kinda sucks, lol. Hopefully I'll be a millionnaire by then though, with a sweet car and such. Not sure what else will change, everything probably. Who knows, we could be progressing towards a hotel on the moon for millionnaires by then.

better tv's, worse tv shows, food.... exactly the same only with more sugar and macdonalds will own most of americas west coast.stan lee dies and has a bigger memorial servie than the pope. ill be 52 years old(i think...), so i can play the guy in the rocking chair in slasher films that tells "them dern teenagers" not to go past the abandoned asylum,lol. and still no flying car. and a few more **** star trek films.

look at every technological leap in history...the creation of a mass medium was behind it. printing press, internet, etc.... i can see the above predictions coming true, society probably won't change much, but the new mass medium will definitely be Virtual Reality. Video games, entertainment, training for jobs or military will be big businesses. However, nobody will capitolize on VR more than PORN. All of this according to my mass. comm. teacher. The mass infantry war-period is over. Sure, there will be wars from now on, but not on the scale of the WW's. Long distance weaponry and special tactics forces will limit casualties. The next big conflict will be in Asia. N. Korea is threatening everyone with their nuclear capabilities, China is finally becoming modern and its economy is booming. Japan is comign around to remilitarizing in response to China's growth and N. Korea's weaponry. Unfortunately, the rest of Asia sees Japan as a major threat and still regards them as evil (their brutal control over Asia during the 30's and 40's has not been forgotten). sorry for the history lesson, but i love discussing what the future may hold. oh yes, and massive outbreaks of the living dead somewhere in there too!

With the real estate market the way it is, I think there'll be a new, land-owners class in the United States. I think the effects of global warming will be felt world-wide, with unpredictable weather patterns and climate changes.

more of the same. the mouth breathers will have outbred us. the baby boomers will be bleeding the work force dry. we'll all have 50 terrbyte "wetware" Ipods that are grafted into our bodies. i suspect atleast one nuclear device will have been detonated somewhere in the world. tom cruise will still be making (even ****tier) movies. george lucas's head will be busy at work on star wars Episode -2 the pre-prequel . and i still won't have won powerball.

Cd cases and movies will no longer be incredibly difficult to open. Sasauge will come in toothpaste bottles, and toothpaste will come in a meat form. Brushing of the teeth will have been phased out by either eating toothpaste meat of by lasers which make teeth healtheir. thus negitating the need for dentists. the lack of dentists, and the lay offs will have a massive impact on us. They will take up arms and cause the dental insurrection which will devestate a large portion of the planet, and cause worldwide gum disease. The insurrection will only be stopped by a massive bomb which targets the dental gene found in only a select few individuals, which grant them talent in the area of mouth work. The bomb will cause molecular destabilization and turn them into a pool of jelly, thus killing them and in so doing, every other person with the dental gene. The 3rd world will have created metallic flotation elephants which form the basis of their newly established third world order, in which all 3rd world nations come together to form one large individual country in order to help prevent and stop the havoc of Aids and other diseases, and to also bring stailization to them. They emerge as a highly powerful sect which will ulimitly fall to the Northern coalition, in which Canada leads with it's superior technology and robot soldiers which can use phase shift warp manipulaters to turn their oponents into bacon. seriusly, bacon. We come out on top and form a new world order in which we govern everything and everyone. With earth subdued and under one banner, we set our quest for the stars in flying baby carriages with ion gravitational engines. the story has just begun... The future is messed up indeed..dude..I should like, write a story about this.
