I enjoyed Funny Games up until a certain point. That certain point was the "Where's the remote?!?" scene. What a load of sh*t. The film had potential until that.

I hope to never hear, see, or think about it again.

As for the other films - Will Ferrell: No thanks. Never seen DR.

I think the remote scene was part of the "message" being preached by the writer/director, hence all the talk about black holes and all that wank in the boat, seemingly it ties back to the whole stuff about we the viewer and on screen violence, which was a whole bit that I didn't like - but the performances all round were fantastic.

Step Brothers was awesome, I don't worship Ferrell, but I do find his good stuff rather funny.

Now, Semi Pro - THAT was sh*te.

    ...

Death Race 2000 - check it out, camp 70s fun, with a soon-coming-out watered-down piece-of-sh*t name-raping 'remake' from Paul WS Anderson ... DR2000 though, woo. 70s indie production values, 70s hair, 70s boobies ... Sly Stallone chewing the set left right and centre (very entertainingly so), good fun flick.

Well MZ, once again you are honest and to the point (and accurate as well). Now I refuse to watch Death Race because 1) it's Paul Anderson and 2) I just love the original too much to taint the name. I didn't see teeth, but I figured it was made just so guys would get a bad feeling between their legs.

Step Brothers was good, and better than most of Ferrell's recent stuff, but I think it just lost me in the last quarter. I think they got a little carried away and were just trying to put in cheap laughs and it came at a cost.

OHHHH. Allow me to insert foot into mouth. I didn't read your review because I thought you were talking about Paul WS Anderson's remake. The original I saw long ago and enjoyed it for the camp factor. That was about 10 years ago, so I need to give it another try. My mistake...

Roger Corman and his studios films, upping the cheese factor that may put Wisconsin out of business.
