    Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy yyyyy?!?!?
Starship: I saw an interview with that Mickey guy. He looks alot less, for lack of a better word, faggy now. I like the WITH part, all the songs I heard sounded like alot of him and not much Grace. I always figured because she was all croaky from the bottle. I also saw her lately, she's a large, white haired lady. The times have not been kind.
Eddeh: Not sure if I shared the story before, but he played the nearby casino awhile back. He came over later and talked to my wife and she had no idea who he was. So funny. The times have not been kind to him lately either.

Seeing as how they're all around 60 years old, I wouldn't expect them all to look like a million bucks. It's how they sound that matters anyway.

I only like a few songs by either of them in the first place, but I've got nothing against them.

Really? You couldn't find some better quality videos? Still, some great tunes.

None of it compares to Grace Slick and the original Jefferson Airplane though. Now that was just some magically awesome music!

how would i find better quality videos? should i set up an "i need a new camera" fund?

like it or not, this is the closest we will ever get to jefferson airplane/starship in the form of a reunion. this lineup has been together for quite a long time and paul katner (who has the jefferson airplane name rights) tries to use mickey's voice in concert promos....... for his group and they sound like shit live.

pray you look that good at 71. grace slick is retired and shes probably gonna stay that way.

its either starship or nothing because no one else has mickey's voice. he's been what people identify with jefferson airplane/starship for a long time along with grace slick.

yea.......so you want to know why mickey thomas doesnt look the same? reconstructive surgery after being attacked will do that to you along with being about 61....

    dont be so critical.

My bad, I didn't realize you had recorded it. I figured they were just some videos pulled from youtube.

I've always really digged Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship though, but the two best vocalists they had (in my opinion) were Grace Slick (who will just never be beat by anyone, she's up there with Patti Smith, Joplin and Carpenter for me as one of the greatest female vocalists) and Diana Mangano who was also very talented.

The "new" Jefferson Starship today is a bit like listening to something "New" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's better than 90% of everything new being released today, but you just can't hold a torch to what was and never shall be able to ever again.

ohh no , i wouldnt ever post someone elses shit. this is was shot by me and my shitty nikon camera which is 6 years old.

diana is really hot for being over 40. i'd be her groupie.

the chick with them isnt bad at all, but u could tell they were having serious in ear monitor problems through the whole show.

i cant comment on the jefferson airplane era. i missed it all and was born after starship was already goin strong.

sorry if i came off fucked up. i apologize and im sorry for that.

Dang, chill. I thought he looked better now, he actually gave a really good interview of what he went through. Sorry he was attacked, Frank Zappa lost a year or so due to an idiotic attack. As far as Grace...
Me at 71? No idea, probably not alive, or looking like Yoda, or worse. No attempt at being a jerk. The thing I saw was how much of an alkie she was.
I remember when Starship came out, nevermind the fact that I was never impressed with Airplane. Never fit in with what was going on in music at the time in the 80's. I can respect that maybe you liked them, but I didn't. I just didn't. Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.
Not denying Mickey had a great voice, I'd be more inclined to say it was wasted on a has been group that was wayyyy past dying. The fat lady was way past singing her last tune...

As I do not get the love for KISS, though they gave me nightmares in the 70's as a child.
I'm a child of the 80's, new wave punk. Trust me, I remember when We Built This City, or Sara, came out. I was not impressed. Nowadays I can respect his voice, even what you said happened to him, but still...
This music made me cringe when it came out. I chalk it up to having some sort of taste. PiL like a mofo. Once you know who Johnny is, you can never go back.Starship/Kiss who?

Oh come on, no respectable rock group would ever consider still touring/performing after about 60 or so, that's just disturbing to think about a bunch of old men/grandpas strutting around on stage as if they were still the shit and still 25...

There's no such thing as a bad song from the 80's if you ask me.
