    Dawn Of The Dead

    Hi All,

When I was younger my mum owned a video shop and I watched Dawn Of The Dead and there was a scene where 2 kid zombies got shot, but when I saw another version a few years later that scene was not in the film.

And she also had a more goryer version of Day of the Dead as well but again when I saw the movie a few years later it had been cut.

Can someone tell my what is the best version of both Dawn and Day of the dead that I can buy now?

There are so many DVD's now I dont know which is the best uncut version.

    Please help.

PS I live in the UK.

Okay, the cheapest versions of Dawn and Day you can buy are these.

This is the 'director's cut' of Dawn and runs for a good 20 minutes longer than the version that was kicking around in the 90's. It's a bit light on the extras side but is the most complete version released in the UK. Should set you back about £5.99 in Virgin/HMV.

There's a two disc version available but I've chosen this one for the cost factor. Again, it's a bit light on the extras but I get the feeling that you just want the film. Same price, same outlets and both DVD's fully uncut.

    I hope that helps.

The best version to get would probably be the Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition. It has four discs, on one disc is the U.S. Theatrical version which is the version originally played in theaters, on another disc is the Extended version which is similar to the U.S. Theatrical version except that it has more footage in it, on yet another disc is the European version where although that version is the shortest of the three some of the scenes are longer and it also has some scenes that are not in the other two versions. I hope that answered your question. Oh and since it looks like you just joined let me say welcome to the HPOTD forums.
Where are you going to be and what are you going to do when the inevitable Zombie Apocalypse comes to be?

Not available in the UK and would require a region 1 player if bought online.

Yup, totally and completely. It's been uncut in this country for many years now and that only came out a couple of years ago.
