    Zorro reboot (film)

Seems a Zorro reboot is buidling steam! Sounds like they're going for a more gritty style with the reboot - http://www.aintitcool.com/node/66445

more of a Dark Knight-style unveiling of the character with a new backstory, gritty realism and emotional core.
BUT! Warning.... They're going all kung-fu on us too!

There will be swordplay, combined with the martial arts that came from Europe and created a deadly combination of action and lethal fighting systems that combined swords, daggers, grappling and bare knuckles.
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Zorro is a concept which; so long as you follow certain guidelines, the sky's the limit. That he's a masked Californian Robin Hood ( just to keep it from getting too confusing. Although, He could be a She - just saying. ) and that somewhere in the story swordplay is involved. Actually, this turned out more simple than I thought. Tyrone Power is still my favorite Zorro.

    I'm all for this.

Bring on the swordplay. Love this type of stuff. Hope it's better than the new The Three Musketeers film, tho. That one didn't really go for anything "gritty", tho...
