"Zombie Proof" log cabin with 10 year anti-zombie guarantee...

    http://www.cnet.com/news/zombie-proo...tag=YHF65cbda0

Well, considering zombies aren't real, I'm sure that guarantee will hold.

However - one massive problem with that "zombie proof" cabin - the front door is at ground-sodding-level! Not raised up with a retractable ladder/walkway/anything! And just a picket fence around the boundary? Kindling to any decent number of zombies.

One more problem with a log cabin... If the zombies happen to work out...

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. haha, true.

Plus, being a log cabin, they could also figure out how to burn it down if they happened to go all...

    haha.

Yep ... it'd be hell buying furniture for that place!

I'm still rather perplexed that this "zombie proof" cabin didn't bother to think about a raised doorway. 'Re-enforced' or not, raising it above head level is the best option to stop the undead getting their foot in your door.

Walls that taper outwards on the ground floor might also be kind of useful too - perhaps they'd help reduce pressure against the walls in the event of a zombie herd? Thoughts?

In that case, when the shit hits the fan you'll want to hop on the nearest ferry and make your way from the Emerald Isle to Englandshireland ... I'll have someone waiting on the Welsh coast in one of these:

(They blew up a landmine, IIRC, underneath the rear wheel ... all it did was puncture the tyre, and even that didn't stop it from pulling itself out of the crater and driving off. )

When I was a kid I wanted to be an architect ... perhaps if the zombie apocalypse happens I could be an architect who specialises in zombie proof accomodation.
