    Faith schools & the N.U.T...

Shifty goings on - Melon Farmers

So they've gone and done a complete 180 on their original view - something smells rotten in the state of Denver to me here, or perhaps they were bought off or threatened somehow. It's a farce, faith schools are specialist. Religion should be separate from both education and politics.

While education and politics are supposed to represent everyone evenly, religion represents one certain group - i.e. the followers of said religion. Mixing faith with education and politics can never lead towards fair and even handed actions.

Humans would be better off without "religious" interference.

I don't want to be anti-US (I am a citizen, after all) but in most of europe religion has little or no influence on either education or politics.

In the US, it has a way to strong footing for me to feel safe.

Altough I must admit I don't know how the score is in the UK, but surely education, politics and religion must be seperated there?

They're becoming linked - that's why this faith school thing is worrying. It's combined religion and education and it's beginning to spread. Plus that total twat Blair is starting to go down Bush Avenue saying that god will judge his decision to go to war - what the f*ck is that?! It'll only get worse unless someone sorts this sh*t out.

So, in a sense, you can justify killing someone by just saying "God will judge me, you can not."?

That's pretty stupid. Especially since I doubt even half of the UK population are actually godfearing christians in the first place.

A lot of people say they're christian because they don't realise "agnostic" or "athiest" are options on the census. Example - when the latest census was being done here in the UK I was at Uni. The bloke came around and asked us lot the questions and my 3 housemates all said they were Christian. I said I was athiest - and indeed that's an option - so then 2 of those 3 changed their answer to agnostic or athiest.
