    It Follows (film)

OK! It sounds bonkers - teenagers being infected by an STG (sexually transmitted ghost) - but AICN suggests it's good! - http://www.aintitcool.com/node/68913

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. They reviewed this film on Film 2015 (BBC) and absolutely totally raved about it!

I went to see it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! People looking for lots of gore and shocks will be disappointed (though it does have some) but it is genuinely creepy and it feels menacing all the way through. The director cleverly uses a very minimal soundtrack which really adds to the atmosphere, and as nothing is really revealed about the demon, what it wants and why it leaves you guessing. Go see it!

    Loved it!

Lovely 1980s feel to it, even down to the content (note: old style TVs), style of filming and the excellent sound track.

The ending is a bit open... but who cares!

    Don't AICN love everything?

    They loved Godzilla.
    They loved Man of Steel.
    They loved World War Z.

I'm sorry, but nothing AICN ever writes carries any form of credibility whatsoever.

FFS! Dreamt of that damn film all night, working out how to get away from the damn thing.

It wasn't nightmares, but I certainly had unsettled sleep most of the night!

I dont know about the movie but I definitively agree that AICN's reccomendation is a strike against it.
That whole site is just another part of the Hollywood hype machine now. I am not saying that they are corrupt or anything but what they did to Harry and the crew there was that they befriended them and made them part of the industry.

Saw it over the weekend. Loved it. Not feeling very talky right now, but great 80's old school vibe. Loved the directors use of the camera to incite tension & claustrophobia. Puts me in the mind of the original "NOES" or "The Ring" in terms of it creates its own internal world logic & then relentlessly explores it. Fantastic use of metaphor. 10/11.
