    Yo Brits!

I was talking to a friend of mine who visited London recently and anyway he went to a barber shop and got a Turkish shave. Anyway that fascinated me that they still do that in England, but he said that it was dead for a while but its making a huge comeback as men want to go into a barber shop and get a shave like the gentlemen of yore used to.

My question is, is this true? I am very interested in finding a local barber where I live who does this, what should I look for? How much should it cost in general?

My barber does it. Although I never have opted for it. I am sure it feels great.

What the hell is a turkish shave?, sounds vaguely pornographic.

Yeah, you can get the proper warm towel around the neck and cut-throat razor job here relatively cheap. Never had one myself but I hear it's very relaxing and feels good.

My local barber does it, but as I am a bearded man, I have never enjoyed the experience.

I recommend you watch Sweeney Todd before you have one!

Probably depends on the state you live in. Many places cannot use an actual staight razor anymore without some sort of additional licensing or inspection by the local health department. Also it is sad to see actual Barbers seem to be a dying art- so many opt for the Procuts 9.95 wack job haircut--

I always seek out the old time barbers though-- we have a place in my town (McKinney Texas) that does the whole route-- real haircut, straight razor shave to the back of the neck, Turkish shaves-- hot towels and a massage-- PLUS they serve drinks (beer and cocktails included) and play sports on the tvs-- they have real wood and brass fittings, a pretty face at the door to greet you, and real men barbers who have held on to the craft--

It costs a pretty penny, but man is it ever worth it!!!
