    steve irwin in south park

now loads of people have thrown a **** fit over this but i do believe trey and matt have played an incredible advertising move to pull ratings up, you see the fuss is over steve irwin with a stingray in his chest, but even the devil goes "woah thats just to soon man".
but heres the thing, HES ONLY IN THE SHOW FOR THE BEST PART OF 4 SECONDS!!.
so while many will tune in just to see how immoral it is its only a small part near the end.

    check it out.

I don't find it offensive in the least but I will admit it is rather sick!

Here in the UK, the lunatic leader of MediaWatch (formally run by Mary Whitehouse, aka the old biddy whose pro-censorship whinging inspired the satirical name of the famous US jazz mag, she also claimed Evil Dead to be her #1 nasty) - has spouted off about this episode.

Now, John Beyer is the sort of loser who has to complain about any old rubbish to secure funding for his pointless organisation, an organisation set up to take the calls and complaints from people pathetic enough to actually spend their time complaining about someone accidentally swearing before 9pm on live TV. Beyer is also the sort of person who hates programmes like South Park and doesn't believe people should have free choice or speech (he likewise thinks people should be jailed for viewing R18 BBFC rated pornography!), so this is no doubt just spouting out bollocks to:

    1) Because he's got nothing better to do and relishes the opportunity.

    2) Needs to keep a high enough profile to justify his organisation's funding.

Geez, even Parker & Stone called everyone's bluff when they themselves said "dude, it's too soon", by putting the words into the mouth of Satan.

What gets me is how people aren't complaining about My Super Sweet 16, a show dedicated to massaging the already raging egos of 16 year old spoiled rich kids who have a sh*t-fit because Mummy & Daddy didn't buy their kid's brand new Porsche in the right colour - a car they don't even have a license to drive yet!

Personally, a bluff-already-called "joke" on South Park (where you'd expect such things anyway) is nothing in comparison to the sickening ego-waxing of spoiled brats on MTV all around the world in a show that glorifies spoiled, selfish and retarded behaviour. But that's me personally...

Personally, I think it isa bit too soon. But, it takes alot more than that to offend me. This is no more/no less than you should have come to expect from South Park and it's creators.

As a ratings gimmick it's well played, as hellsing suggests. But, I dunno if, in the long run, it will help them out or worsen things for them.

Some things should be considered sacred...

yeah but if they got complacent we'd have more shows like the first half of the season.

Actually the network forced them not to, Parker and Stone wanted to show the face because they say the inherient double-standards and utter bollocks in the situation, but Cartoon Network made them censor it, so Parker and Stone censored in their style.

Bit of news on imdb.com, apparently Irwin's widow is upset - well there's a shock - but what I found disturbing was:

    1) saying what if her kids saw it, her kids are 8 and 2, they shouldn't be anywhere near South Park in the first place.

    2) someone else commenting essentially made a semi-covered suggestion for Irwin fans to find the addresses of Parker and Stone and put poisonous animals into their homes... Even if the bloke was saying he wouldn't want that, he's still said it and suggested it to people who might - the same people who went out killing Stingrays after Irwin's death.

Distaste or not, it's personal opinion, the human race naturally laughs in the face of diversity - you can take what you will from South Park - but irrespective or whoever is in the joke, if they start censoring themselves saying "we can't make a joke around this group" then they're doing themselves a dis-service.

Hell, the odd joke about Richard Hammond's crash appeared on panel comedy quiz shows when it still wasn't known whether he'd have severe and lasting brain damage or not. Not quite the same, but basically the same thing...

Anyway, that's my view, I doubt the Irwin joke was at all made to intend offence against the family, but they're not the first people to make a joke about someone recently departed, let's not forget that. In fact, you could say, such a joke is kinda old hat.

People have always been offended by South Park.

People always WILL be offended by South Park. The creators are the sort of people who would make fun of Muslims publicly if they had the chance and when the group complained they'd tell them to shove it up their ass.

They're not "politically correct" in an age where people demand political correctness to an almost disgusting level. They push the limits, they're more of what we need in this world, and I think they're doing a great job stirring up those idiotic censorship people.

South Park Creators + Censorship Agencies = pwned.

Looks like Bill Maher's stealing South Park's 'thunder' in the real world (as opposed to a cartoon):

    http://www.hollywoodrag.com/index.ph...oween_costume/

South Park is a 2-D cartoon ... this is a real-life man in the real world.
