    British Public Info films...

I ran across the old "Protect and Survive" nuclear survival films on YouTube recently (British users, you know the ones I mean) and I found a link to a film called "Spirit of dark and lonely water"... this creeped me out even though it is from the 70's.

Can anyone else remember these films???

aye iremember when they still showed that in the late 80's, and aye that spirit of lonely water was incredibly creepy.
in fact it was voted like number 10 out of the top 100 all time scariest films of all time by the british public.

i guess the american equivalent is that one were they show the kid jumping off his bike and hiding his face against the curb from a nuclear attack.

*sudders*, now thats creepier than any damn horror movie.

now I come to think about it, since I mentioned the Protect and survive film, I've just remembered this film called "Threads". It's et in sheffield and focuses on a couple of families and their reactions to a nuclear strike on the city... It scared me when I first saw it a few years ago, and it still scares me today. Here's a clip from it:

The American film "Duck and Cover" was a cold war classic

Beware the beast, man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him, drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death.
