Is this what you are talking about:

If so, I know of 2 people that have it & have had no problems whatsoever with it. It was easy to set up & works great. What's good about it is that you can still use other accessories like the Nyko Intercooler with it. My nephew has both the Wireless Adapter & the Intercooler & they attach seemlessly.

That's exactly it. I wasn't aware that it was so expensive, though. I have wireless dsl at my house and used the wi fi option on my psp to leech the signal. I figured I might be able to do the same for the 360. What's the story on the Nyko Intercooler? Is it just a cooling system for the overheating chips?

i did a quick skim on gamefaqs and a few other sites for you. as far as i can tell the official Xbox unit is pretty decent. it'll pull from just about any router out there on the same bandwith. it seems to function better for people with better routers(cough....linksys) of course.

Thanks guys. I've read the newer 360s that will be release around 2007 will have smaller chips that produce less heat. I'll trade my 360 in for a newer one since I have a one year service plan. I hope they'll let me switch my harddrives.

You'll get different opinions on the Nyko Intercooler. Some people will say it's a waste of $20.00 & it's not needed. I would be in the camp of people that say that for $20.00 it's worth it. If it adds even a year to the life of my 360 then it's worth $20.00.

To me it works great. It has 3 fans that draw the hot air out of the 360. Keeps the unit very cool even after hours of playtime. Since getting the Intercooler I've had very few incidents with the 360 freezing so again, it's worth the $20.00 to me.

I purchased both the cooling system and the wifi attachment yesterday. They both work great. Thanks.
