Yeah, ot's kinda funny that pic. The Plaid shirt is Uncle Creepy from Dread Central. He is quite proud of his zombie cameo in the movie. (understandably so) That scene is shown in a quick snippit in the video I posted from the film fest. The guy presenting. . can't remember his name, he did the DVD extras for Land. . .is in that scene as well. He had a story about how they were all freezing their asses off and their fingers were numb and raw from digging into the corpse, and how Uncle Creepy freaked him out when he grabbed and started gnawing on the spine.

Michael Felsher is the guy you are talking about. Mike was a zombie in "Land of the Dead" as well.

Actually, I'm unaware that Mike had anything to with the dvd extras for Land. I know his company did the extras for Diary and this latest one, but I don't believe he was involved with the Land extras. So you might have to find someone else to blame for that horrible music.

    I concur.
Actually lads, I would be one of those who'd say that Land was a bit skimmpy with it's gore scenes. Maybe they just weren't on screen long enough, or hidden in darkness to get around the morons at the MPAA. But I came away thinking I personally would have put in more. Of course 'Day of the Dead' is the absolute benchmark in that respect. I still find it amazing how much Romero got away with in that film.

There was more red stuff in 'Land' than there is in a lot of so called zombie flicks though. But, i still think it could have done with a bit more.

Either way, any zombie movie that skimps on the gore is cheating its audience IMO. We're dealing with creatures that devour human flesh after all and cutting away from the goods is hokey.

Great big fat fellow with with glasses right? Pretty sure this is the same guy. This is the guy that did the behind the scenes looks at Land. He ran the Myspace page that served as the movie's website.

There's always been something a little "off" about LOTD that turns me "off". I could never put my finger on it but I don't think it's the gore.

Relatively speaking you could say that NOTLD remake skimped on the gore as well and Savini was none to happy about it. (Although the original isn't as gory by today's standards it was considered to be absolutely obscene at the time so that why I don't count that.)

I've always thought that Savini probably wanted a gore fest with Night90, but when the studio/MPAA made him cut it down he came up with that "ummm.....the more you DONT see...the worse it is!" thing. It makes me laugh that he's trying to cover his footsteps like that. Especially considering the fact that he's considered one of the godfathers of gore....

I believe you are thinking of Diary of the Dead. Mike was only a zombie in LOTD, that I am aware of. I even went back and checked my LOTD dvd and his name is not listed in the credits at the end of any of the featurettes I checked.
The link below is from Mike's company and it lists all of the projects he has done. Prior to starting his own company in 2004, he worked for years at Anchor Bay and worked on the Dawn & Day special editions.

I think that's just a man rationalizing it to himself. And sometimes that saying is true but none of us here believe that Savini really thinks that.

I think Savini knew that his name, coupled with the notoriety of 'Night of the Living Dead' and zombies in general meant that the MPAA were going to be dicks, no matter what he did. I think the "worst" effect Savini had for 'Night 90' was a single exploding head scene...and the MPAA still wanted it cut.

I was diaspointed by the low amount of chewing in the remake, but I still find it a more satisfying movie than 'Land of the Dead' for some reason.

I also hate that old canard of showing less on screen, cos the audience can "imagine" much worse blah, blah.......

Absolute crap, IMO. Just an excuse.

I consider night 90 to be part of the original trilogy. Imo, even though Gar didn't direct it it still feels more like it belongs in that group instead of the "new millenium" Gar flicks which ,imo, can't hold the original trilogy's jockstrap.

Lotd and Diarhrea might as well have been directed by someone else because they just don't FEEl like Gar flicks. If I popped those films in and no one told me who directed them I would never have guessed it was GAr. Now that's an indictment in itself.
