Is NOTLD is classed as Public Domain???

Any print not bearing the copyright notice can be construed as public domain, although others beg to differ.

It was public domain for years, probably still is. Hence its frequent appearance in the $1 VHS bargain bins back in the 80's and 90's and a current presence in the $1 slimcase dvd bargain bins today. Anyone ever come across the version with generic green cover art which puts Night on one side and House on Haunted Hill (or is it The Haunting?) on the other side?

From what I understand, the same problem happened with the original version of Little Shop of Horrors. There used to be a ton of those on video in the cheap bin. Right now, a dollar store in my area has at least one or two cheap dvd copies of Night still laying around.
